Cold weather brings hypothermia

As the weather gets colder, doctors report an increased number of hypothermia cases. Homeless, drunk and aged people make up the risk groups. According to sources from Emergency Service, on Friday, December 22, a 50 year old woman was hospitalized with hypothermia. She was found on Calea Iesilor Street. The woman was inebriated and her identity wasn’t established yet. Also on Friday, according to doctors from Emergency Service, about 1:30 am, a 27 year old man with head trauma and many fractures was brought to hospital. He was beaten by a few unidentified persons. Two men were injured by cars. The first, 41, was hit on A. Russo Street by a Volkswagen Golf car; the second, 70, was injured by a microbus on intersection of Petrarilor and Hancesti streets while he was crossing the road. Also, a 22 year old woman was hit by an Opel Astra car on Independentei Street. During the last 24 hours, the Emergency Service received 650 calls.
