The National Health Insurance Company CNAM has allocated over 7 million lei from its preventive measures fund to purchase a first installment of influenza shots for the 2021-2022 season, it said in a press release.
The 49,800 doses batch, which arrived in Moldova earlier this week, was received at the national vaccine depot of the National Public Health Agency and will be distributed to territorial public health centers according to existing plans for immunizing people in high-risk groups against seasonal influenza.
Manufactured in Korea, the procured vaccine has been approved in Moldova and its composition corresponds to the one recommended by the World Health Organization for the northern hemisphere in the season 2021-2022.
The procurement contract is for a total of 129,000 doses worth over 18 million lei.
