Civil society seeks real estimation of the war with Transnistria

Historical-Political estimation of the impact the war occurred in 1992 had over the future history of Moldova and the European integration process will be presented at the Science Conference “War on Nistru: causes and consequences”, which will take place in Chisinau on February 20 on the occasion of 15th anniversary of the start of the ’92 war. According to reserve colonel Adrei Covrig “this estimation is too serious to be conducted by “specialists” like Shornikov, Stati or Nazaria”. In light of this fact, former politicians, statesmen, militaries and policemen, historians, veterans of the war and media representatives will be invited to participate in the works of the Conference. The Conference aims, according to the Covrig, to analyse historically and politically the events of the War for the independence and territorial integrity of Moldova, to study its impact over the further history of Moldova, taking upon attitude over the wrong interpretation of the events by the “integrated history” proposed by the government as a history textbook, to work our conclusions and recommendations on the legal and social protection of the veterans and members of their family. The Conference will be attended by the historians Anatol Petrencu and Ion Negrei, veterans Anton Gamurari, Gheorghe Bubulici, Valeriu Popovici, Nicolae Petric, Anatol Cociug, Vasile Severin, Andrei Covrig, Eduard Maican etc, as well as the journalists Valeriu Saharneanu, Constantin Tanase, Anatol Muntean, Elena Donciu and others. The Conference “War on Nistru: causes and consequences” will take place at the Conference Hall of the Public Library “Onisifor Ghibu” in Chisinau on February 20 during 10.00-14.30.
