Both the medically insured and uninsured persons can choose to change the family doctor and the primary medical-sanitary institution covered by the mandatory health insurance system by October 31. The made choice will take effect on January 1, 2015, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué of the National Health Insurance Company (CNAM), those who want to register for the first time or to replace the medical institution and/or the family doctor must submit and register the application in the chosen medical institution.
The persons can register in one primary medical institution. The CNAM recommends choosing the nearest institution to their place of residence. If the applicant chooses to use the services of a family doctor from a primary medical institution that serves another territory, they will have to themselves cover the costs incurred by the doctor travelling to their place.
Every year between September 1 and October 31, the Moldovans have the possibility of changing the primary medical institution and the family doctor. If the name of the family doctor is not mentioned in the application, the doctor will be chosen by the institution. The replacement of the family doctor in another period of the year is possible only when the person changes the pace of residence.
