A citizen of Syria is investigated by anticorruption officers and prosecutors within a criminal case started over acts of corruption. He is suspected of traffic of influence and taking of bribe from a woman from Chisinau, who is married to a Syrian man, IPN reports.
According to the National Anticorruption Center, the foreign citizen assured the woman that he can obtain visas for the relatives of her husband for a sum of €1,900. He said he has influence over employees of the Migration and Asylum Office and can make them issue the necessary documents.
Employees of the National Anticorruption Center and anticorruption prosecutors are now carrying out searches at the Honorific Consulate of Syria in Chisinau. The man was caught red-handed.
