Chisinau’s honorable citizens will pay 50% of communal services and will travel free of charge in public transport

5 citizens of honor from Chisinau: M.Biesu, V.Buga, I.Botezat, D.Matveenco, L.Repida will pay 50% of the communal services and will travel for free in the public transport.
Although these provisions were working until now, because of different reasons these facilities were not respected. According to the estimations of the Municipal Communal Department these 5 persons pay MDL 4.8 thousand monthly.
The municipal council has recently approved the update and maintenance of these facilities in light of the fact that “this title is not offered so often”.
The 50% payment of the communal services will be offered to persons with merits who live in the municipality of Chisinau from the reserve fund included every year in the municipal budget.
The Public Transport Department will present annually proposals on including citizens in the list of persons benefiting of free travels in the urban public transport.
Depending on the importance of the contribution and on the value of the merit, CMC settled the following gradual forms of stimulation: presenting gratitude; offering a letter of gratitude; offering a material reward; making a photo on the background of city’s flag; offering the Chisinau’s diploma of honor, offering the symbolic key of Chisinau; offering the title of “Honorable citizen of Chisinau”, nominating the person for the state decoration of the Republic of Moldova and other state awards.
Until now, 22 persons, including 11 foreign citizens hold the title of “honorable citizen of Chisinau”. Of the foreign citizens, 6 are from Russia, 3 from France, 1 from Spain and 1 from Germany.
