The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration was not officially informed about the existence of a Transnistrian conflict settling plan shaped in Bucharest, declared the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrei Stratan, at a press conference. “I found about the existence of such a plan from the press”, said Stratan. He mentioned that he asked the diplomatic mission in Bucharest to solicit information from the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to discuss this plan. “We should know of the existence of such a document not only from them press, but from official persons; a proposal regarding the settling of the Transnistrian dispute must be discussed not only with Chisinau and Moscow but also with EU and USA”, ended Stratan. In an interview of the Romanian president Traian Basescu given to the Russian newspaper “Kommersant”, he declared that Romania has a proposal on resuming the intense dialogue with Transnistria. After the Black Sea Forum, which is to take place the next week in Bucharest, Romania will discuss with Chisinau and Moscow for the acceptance of this plan.
