Chisinau Municipal Council will request Government to reinstall payments on study institutions debts

The Chisinau Municipal Council will examine, in next week’s meeting, a request to the Government regarding the reinstallment of the debts of the study institutions from Chisinau municipal towards the National Social Insurance Company (NSIC) and the cancellation of the debt towards the State Social Insurances Fund. Debts towards NSIC reached MDL 19.2 million, and to the Social Fund – MDL 6.23 million. During the meeting from Thursday, September 7, the Committee for education, social protection and health protection within the CMC has announced of an initiative of the General Department of Education, Science, Youth and Sports and the Finances Department. Chairman of the Committee for education, social protection and health protection, Vasile Parasca, declared for Info-Prim Neo that the debts are an issue from the ’96 – 98 years, when because of the difficult financial situation the wages for the teachers were paid without the required social funds taxes. Therefore, the municipality will require from the Government the elaboration of a law identical to that from 2004 “Regarding the debts of the public medical institutions towards the State social insurance fund”, according to which the debts of these institutions were re-spread on a period of 5 years. If the requirements of the municipality will be fulfilled by the government, the Municipal Council will approve the payment of MDL 6 million from the overall debt, the rest being due until 2009.
