A Chisinau man has been arrested after the police found in his Ciocana apartment one kilogram of marijuana with an estimated street value of 200,000 lei.
The Chisinau Police said in a press release the seizure was sent for lab tests and other forensic procedures.
The suspect was previously convicted for similar offenses. He is now facing illegal drug trade charges punishable by 1 to 6 years in prison.
The bust was part of the ongoing MAC-2019, operation which aims to combat trafficking in illegal plant-based drugs by targeting both cultivation and trade.
