The taxpayers in Chisinau transferred a total amount of approximately 3.9 billion lei into the National Public Budget in the first trimester of the year, exceeding the plan of returns with 513 million lei and a growth of 15%. Moreover, current returns increased by 35% compared to the same period of the previous year. Furthermore, the BPN raised income of 9.9 billion lei, representing a total growth of 7.8% compared to provisions. Compared to the same period of 2006, a surplus of 2.04 billion lei or a growth of 28.7% was registered. The Head of the State Inspectorate in Chisinau, Procopie Duca stated on Monday, July 23 during an operational mayoral meeting that a significant increase on returns was depicted across all budgetary proceedings. Thus, the state Budget registered 1.6 billion lei, with 76 million or 13% more than the planned index. Returns on the local budget represented a total of 828 million lei, with 223 million lei or 21% more than initial suggestions. The budget for state social insurance raised 1.2 billion lei, with 195 million lei or 18% more than the proposed index. Returns for the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund represented 215 billion lei, an increase of 17 million lei. According to Duca, some departments of the local budget registered a lack of compliance with the budgetary plan, in the sum of 7 million lei. Thus, for the natural persons land ownership tax, debts in the sum of 200 thousand lei were registered, for tax on property goods for natural persons – a total of 1.85 million was registered in debts, tax on local symbols – 244 thousand lei and on parking tax – 1.1 million lei.
