On July 7, the French – Moldovan Forum: Francophony – a European path for Moldova, has taken place. It gathered officials from both countries, such as businessmen, journalists and representatives of the civil society.
During his speech, Speaker of Parliament Marian Lupu said that francophony can easily become the most significant political voice in the European Union, with true possibilities for promoting and support its own specific values. The encouragement of a qualitative relationship between Moldova and France along with the whole world of francophony represents a proper way of integration into the big European family for our country, Lupu concluded.
Pierre Andrieu, French ambassador in Moldova said that the 2012 Summit of Francophony will be hosted by the Moldovan capital city, Chisinau. Other French guests have mentioned that the Francophony could be of great importance to Moldova’s Europeanization, appreciating as well the contribution of our country towards the development of the Francophony in the Central and Eastern Europe.
The Forum was organised by the Moldovan Parliament in partnership with the French Organisation “Les Moldaviens” and the Jean Jaurès Foundation as well as with the help of the French Alliance in Moldova.
