The Chisinau Forestry Enterprise started to release by 3 steres of firewood to each family. Those who want to receive wood can go to the forestry companies in Ghidighici, Criuleni, Anenii Noi and Vadul lui Vodă, the Chisinau City Hall has said.
Contacted by IPN for details, Moldsilva Forestry Agency vice director Iulian Mamai said the wood is provided for money at the selling price specified in the catalogue of prices of forestry companies. The wood is released according to lists compiled by mayor’s offices on the presentation of the identity card.
The decision to release firewood to the population for winter was approved by the National Commission for Exceptional Situations. The prices remained at last year’s level: 550-875 lei per stere for hardwood (oak tree and acacia) and 350-475 lei per stere of softwood. Moldsilva Agency said the transportation of firewood at night, keeping of wood in places that do not form part of the infrastructure of forestry companies and sale of wood in the absence of accounting documents are banned.
