The mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban announced through Facebook that the donations made at the collection point opened by the municipality by citizens and partners will be distributed to all the refugees that need assistance. The distribution procedure will be launched by this weekend.
The products will be distributed based on the identification papers of beneficiaries, copy of the passport and registration.
“We know that besides the refugees who are accommodated at placement centers in Chisinau, there are citizens who house refugees at their homes and they also face difficulties and need assistance. We are now working out the mechanism for distributing donations from the collection point of the Chisinau City Hall. There will be prepared bags with essential things needed by persons who are in need of assistance,” said Ceban.
The population takes clothing, footwear and hygiene products to the City Hall’s collection point.
Most of the Ukrainian refugees have been lodged at “Moldexpo” Center, at the handball sports school No. 2, at the former Lukoil cinema, at the ORION center, at Nord Vest Hotel and in a separate block of the Ftiziopneumology Hospital in Chisinau.
