Chisinau city accounts for 2/3 of national public budget

Chisinau city provides 62% of the national public budget. This data is taken from the report regarding the socio-economical development of Chisinau City, for the first 6 months, presented by Valentina Merla, head of Economy, Reforms and Patrimonial Relations General Department. According to the cited source, Chisinau’s contribution to the public budget increased by 12.6% compared with 1998`s report, when it constituted 50%. The source also states that during the mentioned period, the medium wage was of MDL 1991.6 which shows an increase of 22%, compared with the same period 2005, and an increase of 25.8% in comparison with the medium earnings per national economy. According to the cited report, in the first half of 2006, Chisinau has transferred to the medical insurances budget MDL 142.7 mln, by 34.2% more than in the same period last year.
