Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici said he respects Iurie Leanca’s decision not to give his vote to the new Government. “I respect Mister Leanca’s decision. I told you about my relations with him and this does not change the situation,” Gaburici told the reporters after the vote held in Parliament.
He noted that the new Government will hold its first meeting in several hours. “We will have the first meeting and will agree the immediate measures that must be taken to stop the depreciation of the leu and to stabilize the economic and social situation in the country,” stated Gaburici.
As regards the decision to replace Oleg Efrim with Vladimir Grosu as minister of justice, Chiril Gaburici said it was taken by the Liberal Democratic Party in the last minute. Asked if this was a condition imposed by the Party of Communists, Gaburici said he cannot answer this question.
The Gaburici Government was invested by the votes of 60 MPs of the PLDM, PCRM and PDM on February 18. The Liberal-Democratic MP Iurie Leanca didn’t support the new Cabinet that includes ministers fielded by the Lib-Dems and the Democrats.
