The Chinese Embassy in Chișinău has expressed its openness to supporting agricultural cooperation between Moldova and China. During a press conference, Wang Lyuxin, Counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Chișinău, emphasized the importance of collaboration in smart agriculture and e-commerce, highlighting mutual benefits. Participants at the event underscored the need to promote Moldovan agricultural products on the Chinese market. To contribute to the modernization and competitiveness of this sector, the implementation of innovative Chinese technologies in Moldovan agriculture was proposed, IPN reports.

Wang Lyuxin stated that the People's Republic of China has the willingness and capacity to assist in Moldova’s development. "China respects Moldova’s independently chosen path of development and is pleased to see Moldova achieving its vision of a prosperous nation and happy people during the European integration process. Today’s dialogue focuses on sharing opportunities and fostering mutually beneficial cooperation, and the relationship between China and Moldova exemplifies this," the counselor emphasized.

She also pointed out that China is already Moldova’s third-largest trading partner. Wang Lyuxin reaffirmed the Chinese Embassy’s commitment to strengthening cooperation between the two countries in smart agriculture, artificial intelligence, e-commerce, and other sectors.

Tatiana Nistorica, President of the MOVCA Association, highlighted the importance of developing partnerships, noting that implementing Chinese technologies and attracting investments could play a key role in the overall growth of Moldova's agricultural sector, particularly in the development of organic farming.

She stressed that in the context of sustainable agriculture, the focus should be on promoting organic farming, as it offers "a value-added product." Nistorică emphasized that organic agriculture should be a key direction for the development of Moldova’s agricultural sector.

"In the context of collaboration opportunities with China, we, as an agricultural sector, can work together both by promoting Moldovan products on the Chinese market, which has a growing demand for organic products, and by implementing advanced Chinese technologies in Moldova," she added.

In February, the National Food Safety Agency and the Chinese Embassy signed a protocol on sanitary and phytosanitary requirements for exporting grape seed flour and sunflower seed flour from Moldova to China.
