The seven-year-old boy whose body was found in a well in Verejeni village of Telenesti district had been shot. Mariana Betivu, press officer of the General Police Inspectorate, has told IPN that this had a gun wound in the left shoulder. A 14-year-old boy from the neighborhood is being questioned.
It is presumed that the teen played with the hunter’s gun of his father and accidentally shot the child who came on a visit. “The 14-year-old boy is now being questioned so as to find out how he threw the younger child into the well and what happened before this. It is known that there was no one home. It is not yet clear if the gun was in a safe or not,” stated Mariana Betivu.
The child went missing in the evening of November 18. In the morning, rescuers started to pump water out of a series of local wells. The body of the child was found in one of them.
