The “heating season” in Chisinau will stop on Tuesday, April 8, as the City Hall took such a decision on Monday, April 7, Info-Prim Neo reports. The decision has been taken provided the average air temperature is above +8ºC.
Deputy mayor Vlad Cotet says the Termocom heater will go on providing hot water to circa 1,646 dwelling blocks out of those 2,391 which are supplied in a centralized way.
Deputy mayor Mihai Furtuna says the City Hall’s specialized commission has finished the analysis and submitted the draft decision to establish the charge for the heating agent on the basis of the data presented by SA Termocom. Thus the commission has reached the conclusion that the charge to be paid by the municipality for 1 Gcal is 456 lei for the heating provided in the winter of 2007-2008. No re-calculations will be done concerning the ending season, as the citizens will pay a tariff of 233 lei for 1 Gcal.
Speaking on the heating to be provided in 2008-2009, the commission will propose a tariff of 536 lei in the draft decision sent to the Chisinau Municipal Council. The Chisinau authorities now consider the amount of the compensations for all the categories of dwellers for the next heating season. Deputy mayor Mihai Furtuna suggests the City Gall could compensate for the heating of 28 square meters in an apartment inhabited by two dwellers.
Some poorer social categories will get direct compensations.
General mayor Dorin Chirtoaca has asked to involve representatives of the civil society and the World Bank in the talks on the heating charge for the winter of 2008-2009.
