The Association „Promo-Lex” intends to open a resource and Information Center for inhabitants of Transnistria, the chairman of the Association, Ion Manole, announced about this on Wednesday at a press conference, July 26. „Promo-Lex” negotiates with the sponsors of the association and it is possible that the mentioned Center starts its activity in January-February 2007. For the moment it was not decided where the Center will be opened, the associations is to choose between Chisinau and the Transnistrian village Cosnita.
The representatives of the Association „Promo-Lex” note that the inhabitants of Transnistria need informational and juridical assistance regarding their rights. According to Manole, human rights are missing in Transnistria, being rudely violated, and the citizens of the region cannot understand why no one can guarantee their rights.
What happens over the past 15 years in Transnistria cannot be considered otherwise than violations of international rights first of all, even if there are many international organizations and treaties obliging the states to have a civilized behavior in relation with the others, Manole mentioned. In spite of efforts undertaken by the authorities of Moldova lately, these are not sufficient, that is why Chisinau should go on with complaints in front of the international community that, at its turn, has to discuss the Transnistrian matter at the level of that of Lebanon, „Promo-Lex” chairman underlined.
Previously, the Association „Promo-Lex” submitted 5 complaints to ECHR, signed by about 2,000 farmers of Transnistria, and 3 complaints on behalf of businessmen, which show the violation of the right to property. According to Manole, the complaints are to be examined by ECHR.
Disrespecting human rights in Transnistria is the subject of a special chapter of the report on situation of human rights in Moldova, launched officially on Thursday by the Association „Promo-Lex”.
