Members of the 1992 War Veterans Association “Tiras-Tighina” and the National-Christian Association “Noua Dreapta” (“New Right”) this morning have laid flowers and kept a two-minute silence at the graves of the People's Council members situated in Chisinau's Central Cemetery, on the occasion of the Great Union of 1918, Info-Prim Neo reports. The head of “Tiras-Tighina” Association Anatolie Caraman said he was glad that on such an important day for the Romanian people, a number of the national patriotic forces have joined together to celebrate. “This day is holy for every Romanian. On this day, our ancestors decided to unite all the Romanians in one country, in one motherland, under one tricolor,” said the chairman of the National-Christian Association “Noua Dreapta” Sergiu Lascu. Denis Boierescu came from Bucharest to Chisinau to celebrate the holiday of December 1. “Bessarabia, including Chisinau, represents Romania from historic, cultural and linguistic viewpoints. As the parents do not want their children to be taken away from them, Romania does not want Bessarabia to be separated from it. We together should create a powerful nation and follow the path built by God,” Denis Boierescu said. After laying flowers, those attending went to St. Apostol Andrei Monastery to attend a service in honor of the members of the People's Country who voted for Bessarabia's union with Romania on March 27, 1918.
