The Central Election Commission (CEC) notified the Ministry of Justice of its request to dissolve the Political Party "Chance", invoking serious irregularities in financial reporting. CEC deputy chairman Pavel Postica said that the party did not submit its financial reports, despite repeated requests from the authorities.

Contacted by IPN for a comment, Pavel Postica said that during a year from the moment the party's activities were limited, its leaders refused to submit the required documents. For repeated deviations, the legislation stipulates the dissolution among the penalties.

Following this notification, the leader of “Chance Party” Alexei Lungu said that "the party is clean before both the State Tax Service and the CEC" and announced that he will challenge the decision in national and international courts.

The CEC deputy chairman stressed that any decision can be appealed, but it is necessary to present evidence. "So far, the party has not furnished the documents confirming the legality of the financing for its campaign. If they had done it, we would not have reached this situation," said Pavel Postica.

The procedure for dissolving a political party falls within the competence of the Ministry of Justice. The Ministry will analyze the arguments presented by the CEC and, if it considers the request justified, will ask the court to initiate the liquidation process.
