The groups collecting signatures in support of presidential candidates will be able to apply for registration with the Central Election Commission starting August 31, according to a calendar approved by the CEC today.
Applications should be submitted until September 9 at the CEC's address 119, Alecsandri St.
Applications for registration from presidential candidates will be accepted until September 29, but not before the respective groups manage to validate the required number of signatures in their support.
Other provisions of the CEC calendar of activities preceding the presidential poll on October 30 include deadlines for creating electoral consituencies, setting up polling stations, and instituting electoral bodies at the local level.
