The Central Election Commission decided that 150 polling stations will be established for the Moldovans outsider the country for the snap parliamentary elections of July 11, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Commission.

In a move to execute the June 17 judgment of the Chisinau City Appeals Court and the June 22 judgment of the Supreme Court of Justice, the Central Election Commission held additional consultations with decision makers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. Based on the expenditure estimate for the snap parliamentary elections of July 11, 2021 agreed after assessing the necessities for 150 polling stations, the CEC transmitted a final list of 150 polling stations to the Ministry for final approval.

In this connection, the Ministry informed about the fulfillment of the condition to obtain the consent of the responsible authorities of the foreign states and confirmed the possibility of logistically ensuring the voting process, including the identification of the heads of electoral bureaus of polling places and their location.

As a result, the list of polling stations for the snap parliamentary elections of July 11 abroad was approved by the CEC members by a unanimous vote. Electoral Council No.38 of the electoral constituency for the polling stations established abroad will adjust its decision concerning the constitution of electoral bureaus of polling places abroad to the CEC’s decision.

The CEC took such a decision even if the Chisinau City Appeals Court earlier obliged it to establish at least 191 polling stations outside the country and the Supreme Court of Justice upheld this judgment.
