CEB lends €12m to Moldova for purchasing new ambulances

The Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) approved the provision of a loan of €12 million to Moldova for buying new ambulances for the National Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Center. The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection said 168 ambulances will be purchased with the money. Of these, 35 are intensive care ambulances, while 133 are first aid ambulances, IPN reports.

To modernize the ambulance service, the Government allocated 51 million lei for purchasing 69 ambulances. The first ten ambulances were delivered to the country. The other 59 are to be delivered by the end of this month.

The National Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Center provides free emergency medical assistance services to the population of the Republic of Moldova nonstop. In 2017, the Center offered assistance to over 868,000 persons.
