The Republic of Moldova must be evaluated independently, without imposing the condition of joining the EU together with other states, said the chairman of the Save Romania Union (USR) Cătălin Drulă. According to him, the team of the United Right Alliance, which includes USR, will insist in the European Parliament that Moldova be separated from Ukraine in the accession process. The United Right Alliance will insist in the European Parliament on the augmentation of the financial support for Moldova so that the money goes on infrastructure projects, IPN reports.

The Romanian politician invites the Moldovans with Romanian citizenship to vote on June 9. In the upcoming European Parliament elections, it is important for Romania to be represented by a professional team that would become Moldova’s advocate in the European Union.

“The Republic of Moldova is now in the accession process. We believe that we will succeed in bringing to the European Parliament the strongest team, representing both Romania’s interests and fighting for the Republic of Moldova. The people that the citizens will find on the list of the United Right Alliance, made up of USR, PMP and the Force of the Right, are people who are still fighting for the Republic of Moldova, from the positions they hold. Romania’s course is inevitably very important for the Republic of Moldova as well. Romania’s course over the next ten years will be shaped by this election year. We start in Romania the electoral season with the European Parliament elections of June 9, together with the mayoral elections. In September, we have an election for the President of Romania and at the end of the year there will be parliamentary elections,” USR chairman dent Cătălin Drulă stated in the program “Resumé” on RliveTV channel.

He noted that in the European Parliament, representatives of the United Right Alliance will insist that Moldova be decoupled from Ukraine in the EU accession process and be offered increased financial support for implementing infrastructure projects and for continuing reforms.

“We want the Republic of Moldova to be judged independently in the accession process, not to depend on any package, not to wait for any peace. It should be judged on its footing We will fight for this. We believe that the independent evaluation of the Republic of Moldova is important. There is this tendency for several states to be linked for common accession. Romania has contributed €30 billion since joining the EU and has received €90 billion. Basically, the net amount was €60 billion. The Republic of Moldova is a smaller country, but financial support should be increased anyway. The financial support for reforms, preparation for accession, construction of infrastructure should be augmented. The European Union has the necessary budgetary resources for this because €1 billion or €2 billion is nothing compared to the damage caused by tyranny. We will advocate increasing the financial support for Moldova,” said the Romanian politician from Bucharest.

The United Right Alliance was formed by the Save Romania Union, the People’s Movement Party (PMP) and the Force of the Right Party, including for joint participation in the 2024 European Parliament elections that are scheduled to take place between 6 and 9 June 2024.
