Ion Caras prefers to employ a defensive tactic in the games against Montenegro and Ukraine of the 2014 World Championship qualifiers. “We have two redoubtable adversaries that have valuable strikers. That’s why we must make sure that our defense is well-organized. However, we want to obtain points in both of the matches,” the coach of the national football squad told a news conference on March 18, quoted by IPN.

Caras said that he hasn’t yet chosen the players for the March 22 match against Montenegro. “All the players have chances to be selected. Surely, they will have to work hard and to run a lot on the field,” he stated.

For the matches against Montenegro and Ukraine, the coach summoned 23 players. Striker Radu Ginsari is not among them as he refused to join the national squad.  “He signed with the Russian team Neftehimik and was probably forced to refuse playing for the national team. We hope he will come in autumn,” said Ion Caras.

The lineup for the two matches: Goalkeepers: Stanislav Namashko (Volgari-Gazprom, Russia), Sergey Pashchenko (Malavan Iran); Fullbacks: Alexandru Epureanu (Dinamo Moscow, Russia), Vitalie Bordian, Semion Bulgaru (both Volga Russia), Igor Armas (Kuban Russia), Victor Golovatenco (Sibir Russia), Ion Jardan (Rapid Ghidighici), Iulian Erhan (Torpedo-Belaz, Belarus); Halfbacks: Serghei Gheorghiev, Alexandru Onica, Alexandru Paşcenco, Alexandru Dedov (all Sheriff Tiraspol), Alexandru Suvorov (Academia Chisinau), Nicolae Josan (FC Tiraspol), Igor Tigirlas (Astana Kazakhstan), Alexandru Gatcan (Rostov Russia), Eugen Cebotaru (Spartak Nalcik, Russia), Eugen Sidorenko (Hapoel Nazareth Illit, Israel), Artur Ionita (Aarau Switzerland); Strikers: Igor Bugaiov (Tobol Kazakhstan), Anatol Doros (Rapid Ghidighici), Igor Picusciac (Amkar Russia).

Moldova and Montenegro haven’t been adversaries until now. After four stages played, the Balkan team is a leader in group H with ten points. Moldova ranks fourth with four points. The match will take place on Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau starting at 21.30
