The national football team of Moldova meets the national squad of Canada in Austria this evening, May 27, IPN reports. Recently, the ‘tricolors’ scored two victories - 3-0 against Andorra and 4-0 against Saudi Arabia.

Moldova coach Ion Caras expects that the game against Canada will be difficult. “We are facing a powerful team and the latest results show this. I understand that it will be hard, especially because we now remained without four players. We hope that some of them will manage to recover. We will make effort to achieve a good result,” the coach said in a news conference.

In the May 24 encounter with Saudi Arabia, three players sustained injuries. These are Igor Armas, Serghei Alexeev and Maxim Antoniuc. The first two scored by a goal. Zimbur player Alexandru Dedov was to joint the national team, but he suffered a head injury in the final of Moldova’s Cup against Sheriff.

Moldova and Canada will play a friendly for the first time. The match will be controlled by a group of referees from Austria. It is played in the Austrian town Amstetten and starts at 6:30pm.
