Five persons, including one child, have died in road accidents occurred in Chisinau last weekend.
According to the inspector of the Traffic Security Service of the Chisinau Traffic Police Ion Roscovanu, this number of fatal accidents started on Friday at midnight, when a GAZ 31 10 car, driven by a 38-year-old man, hit at high speed two men aged 29 and 33 on Cantemir Blvd. Both victims died on the spot.
On Saturday November 25, at 7.30 pm, another automobile of VAZ 21 08 make, driven by a 37-year-old man, severely injured an unidentified woman aged 55-60. The tragedy happened on Vadul lui Voda street near the Policlinic nr. 10. The victim was 1.65 m tall, with fair hair. She wore a jacket, trousers, black boots and red waistcoat. The woman was hospitalized in the recovery section of the Emergency Hospital, but died next day in the morning.
Another unidentified person aged about 20-25 met with a fatal accident on Balcani highway on Saturday evening at around 10.00 pm, where a Ford Tranzit minibus, driven by a 32-year-old man, was involved. The victim was 1.75-1.80 m tall, of athletic build, brown short-haired. He wore a red-blue track suit and a black jacket. People that can give information in order to identity the two persons are asked to call on 27-25-01, 88-92-09, 88-92-19, 902 and 903.
A 14-year-ol child had an accident caused by a Mercedes minibus, driven by a man aged 45, on Sunday, at 4.07 pm, on Calea Iesilor street. The child was a pupil of “Liviu Deleanu” Lyceum.
According to police statistics, half of about 3,000 road accidents, reported since the beginning of this year in Moldova, are pedestrian collisions. Each ninth child, dead or injured in accidents, was hit by automobile while crossing the street. At the same time, statistics show that only one in nine injured pedestrians is to blame for.
