Capital’s streets will not be cleaned until spring

The last day of performing works of cleaning the capital’s streets is October 14, on Chisinau Day.
The capital’s authorities will suspend these works for the reason that the equipment used in this process must be prepared for the snow removing works, vice mayor of the capital, Veaceslav Iordan, told Antena C radio station.
Starting May 15, “Exdrupo” Administration cleans every day 16 boulevards and main streets in Chisinau, on which the public transport functions. Fifteen special vehicles are involved in these works.
According to Veaceslav Iordan, the necessary expenses for cleaning a street during a month amount to 80 thousand lei. These include the salary of the drivers and expenses for fuel.
Vice mayor of the capital said also that the water for washing the streets was pumped out of the Stone Mine in Rascani sector. Previously, the used water was released into the Bac River.
Earlier, the City Hall announced that it intends to purchase 50-60 modern equipment units for snow removal from specialized West European companies. The local authorities are willing to buy such an equipment to perform snow cleaning works in winter and, by changing the tools, to be used for sanitation works in summer.
