Capital’s Street to be Named after Emil Loteanu

The specialized commissions of Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) examine these days a decision draft on naming a new street of Chisinau municipality after the renowned cineaste Emil Loteanu. According to the draft, the name of the cineaste Emil Loteanu will be given to a street of the new district of Rascani. Previously, on 22 March 2006, the municipal commission approved the attribution of name of Emil Loteanu to the mentioned street. The stage director, actor, scenarist and poet Emil Loteanu was born in 1936 and died on 18 April 2003. Among the movies that made him famous are „Shatra”, „ My Tender and Affectionate Beast”, „Lautarii”, „Ana Pavlova – A Woman for all Time”, etc. along his life and carrier he was awarded with different honorific titles: Master of Arts (1969), Artist of the People of the Russian Federation (1980), nominee of the State Award of Moldova (1998), Sir of Republic’s Order (2000).
