The Green Spaces Area Management Association (AGSV) of the capital has to take care of the territories within the capital districts as well, the interim mayor of the Chisinau municipality, Vasile Ursu, considers.
The interim mayor expressed this opinion on Monday, June 26, within an operative meeting of the mayoralty, when Eliferie Haruta, AGSV deputy head, informed that the first stage of grass mowing on the central streets is finished, and the second stage started. Ursu underlined that green spaces within the districts have to be cleaned by AGSV as well, as there is no other organization in the field, and that green spaces are managed by the municipality and not by inhabitants.
Ursu has also underlined during the meeting that the governing regulations of the ASV is convenient only to the Association, this is why it has to be changed.
On the other hand, Eliferie Haruta said, during the same meeting, that AGSV is undertaking already several actions in the districts, namely trees cleaning. But the department does not have sufficient labor force to take care of green areas within the districts as well.
Previously, the interim mayor requested ceasing the practice of bringing villagers for green spaces management works. In Ursu’s opinion, the Department’s employees do not fulfill their obligations, and the situation can be improved by firing half of the staff, “in order for the rest to work harder”.
AGSV representatives mentioned that stopping the involvement of village inhabitants in these works would affect the capital, due to the fact that the city inhabitants don’t want to do this job, and the multiple addresses to the Employment Office did not have any result.
In June, besides grass mowing, the mentioned Association has planted about 250,000 flowers.
Presently, 500 employees work at AGSV, who live in localities situated 20-25 km from the capital.
