Capital contributors have depts of over half billion lei to municipal and state budgets

The debts of businessmen of the capital in the municipal and state budgets got over half billion lei and was on 1 May 2006, 574 million lei. The head of the Fiscal Inspectorate of Chisinau municipality, Procopie Duca, announced about this on Monday operative meeting of the mayoralty. Duca says that specialized services do not manage to face the pace of debts increase. As result of the efforts undertaken by them, since year’s beginning, the debts level reduces with 26 million lei, but on 1 May they increased again with 60 million lei. He underscored that for reducing the debts, the Inspectorate continues organizing meetings with businessmen, and as result, only recently, 85 contributors paid over 2 million lei. The interim mayor of the capital, Vasile Ursu, required to specialized services not to admit debts on tax collecting, as according to him this year the municipality needs important resources for implementing the Social-Economic Development of the Program of Chisinau municipality for 2006. The program stipulates repairing and reconstruction of many buildings and priority objects of Chisinau municipality. Previously, Fiscal Inspectorate of Chisinau municipality highlighted that a part of debts would not be recovered, as many businessmen do not work or are in liquidation process.
