For three days, the capital city will host the fourth edition of the festival “I greet you, Chisinau!”. The cultural and artistic events dedicated to the city and its inhabitants will take place on July 19-21 in the Cathedral Square, on the pedestrian street “Eugen Doga” and up to Albișoara St, IPN reports.

In the podcast “Chisinau LIVE”, the head of the General Culture and Cultural Heritage Division Alina Tabacari said that there will be set up the area with food courts and the area of folk craftspeople where handmade embroidery and various handicrafts will be exhibited for sale. Also, painting exhibitions will be mounted and all the divisions of the Chisinau City Hall and the Municipal Council will provide information about the projects under implementation. A special area will be set up for children, with a complete entertainment program during the three days.

The first day of the festival will be dedicated to folklore. On Friday, July 19, the Advahov Brothers’ orchestra will perform together with Zinaida Julea, Nicolae Gribincea with “Plăieșii” ensemble, Maria Iliuț with “Crenguță de Iederă” ensemble. The concert will start at 08:00 p.m. and will last until 22.00. On Saturday, July 20, a symphonic music concert will be organized, with the participation of the Philharmonic Orchestra together with Dumitru Cârciumaru, the municipal chamber orchestra “Camerata Chisinau” together with Sandu Rotaru. Soloists such as Mariana Bulicanu, Dumitru Mîțu, Ana Cernicova and many others will perform. The third day will be dedicated to light music. Natalia Barbu and “Lupii lui Calancea” will set the festive tone for the last day of the festival.

“We ask for the help of volunteers who want to join the team because it is a rather grandiose event and new forces are always welcome along with the team of the Culture Division and the organizers. Every time, we ask for help from those of the Municipal Youth Center. They are the volunteers who are practically always present at our holidays, but any inhabitant of the capital city is welcome to join the team,” said the Division’s head.

Alina Tabacari said that it is an event dedicated to Chisinau and its residents and it is about the city because both the artistic program and the musical program are about the capital city. Access is free for everyone.

The 2024 edition of the festival “I greet you, Chisinau!”  marks 588 years since the first documentary attestation of the city.
