Municipal enterprises can benefit from equipment intended for emergency interventions in the event of natural disasters. Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova, with financial support from the European Union, has launched a grant program with a budget of nearly 6.5 million lei for enterprises responsible for housing and communal services, IPN reports.

The provided equipment will be used for interventions during heavy snowfall, torrential rains, household flooding, fallen trees, and blocked roads.

The funding program offers two types of equipment packages. The first batch includes six sets of medium-capacity tractors and snowplows necessary for road maintenance during winter.

The second batch consists of six sets of dump trailers, wood chippers, and water pumps - essential equipment for dealing with the aftermath of storms, floods, and other natural disasters.

A total of 12 municipal enterprises will receive funding. Each will be able to access equipment worth up to 766,000 lei for Lot 1 and approximately 312,000 lei for Lot 2. Only municipal enterprises managing housing and communal services in cities with a population of up to 18,000 residents are eligible.

The application deadline is March 31.

This grant call is part of the project "EU4Moldova Resilient: Secure State, Strong Communities," funded by the European Union and implemented by Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova.
