Head of Parliament Andrian Candu will request President Igor Dodon to declare December 16 a day of national mourning, IPN reports.
“Given the history that connects us with the royal family, it would be good to declare the day when His Majesty King Mihai I will be buried a day of national mourning,” Andrian Candu stated after the meeting of the Parliament’s Standing Bureau.
In the same press briefing, the Speaker said the MPs will meet at the last sitting of the current session on December 22 and the agenda of the sittings that remained is very tight. There will be examined over 50 draft laws, in particular the draft national budget law and the draft laws on the financial-banking sector and macro-financial assistance, including the grant and lending agreements with the EU.
