Representatives of the public association “Right to Justice” ask that the political cases started by order of the criminal-oligarchic group of Plahotniuc during “the state capture” should be examined and ultimately brought to an end. According to them, until these cases are not solved, the people do not feel a change and the system for them remains the same.

In a news conference at IPN, the association’s chairman Pavel Grigorchuk said that even if particular progress was made and the persons featured in these cases were freed from detention after being held illegally, the trials continue and the accusations against them are not dropped. Moreover, the prosecutors who made the charges, the judges who passed illegal judgments and those who gave instructions haven’t been held accountable. Pavel Grigorchuk mentioned the cases involving former MP Iurie Bolboceanu, former policeman Gheorghe Petic, the company Vento and others.

Even if the political prisoners were set free, they continue to be tried and at least two victims of injustice died – businessman Sergey Cosovan and civic activist Aureliu Pisica. Some of the fabricated cases feature foreign investors. “Surely, this list we presented today does not contain all the cases started by order. Therefore, we call on society, the lawyers and directly on those involved in these cases to tell us about their cases and we will examine and make them public,” said the association’s leader.

“Plahotniuc fled the country in 2019, but all the wrongdoings he committed with the assistance of his aides regrettably continue to have an effect. It is not for the first time that we come with such a call to society, to the Prosecutor General’s Office, to the current government for them to intervene and deal with the existing problems. Hundreds of thousands of people suffered because of the criminal actions of Plahotniuc who was helped by so-called prosecutors,” said lawyer Eduard Rudenco.

The lawyer noted that after the Declaration on State Capture was adopted, the law enforcement agencies should have been cleaned and justice should have been restored, while those who suffered because of the criminal regime should have been rehabilitated.
