The Cabinet approved Moldova’s position on the negotiation of the draft Treaty of Accession to the European Union. The protocol document is signed by all the members of the Cabinet and is to be presented by Prime Minister Dorin Recean next week, at the first Moldova-EU Intergovernmental Conference, IPN reports.

“The priority of the Republic of Moldova is to enhance economic resilience and competitiveness. We aim to integrate our economy into the European single market as soon as possible. We will ask for access to all the EU financing instruments, and internally we have set ourselves the goal of approving all the European legislation by 2030,” stated Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

He noted that the European integration plan of the Republic of Moldova is ambitious, but realistic, with very clear indicators for each chapter of negotiations, which would bring direct benefits to every person in the Republic of Moldova. “I’m sure that the entire Government team, led by Cristina Gerasimov, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, as chief negotiator on behalf of the Republic of Moldova, will manage to successfully cover this process of accession to the European Union,” noted Dorin Recean.

The National Commission for European Integration, chaired by President Maia Sandu, discussed the position of the Republic of Moldova for the negotiation of the draft EU accession treaty.
