“In the current season, we will repeat all the plays. Soon afterward, we will premiere a play for children,” said Boris Focsa, the theater’s director.
On September 13, there will be staged “Questa e la vita dolce?” by Gheorghe Urschi, while on September 17 - “Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare. The plays for children at Luceafarul start at 12.00. “Cinderella” by the Grimm Brothers will be staged on September 13, “The Puss-in-Boots” by Charles Perrault – on September 20, while Aleksey Tolstoi’s “Pinocchio” – on September 27.
Boris Focsa said that they don’t know yet if Luceafarul will participate in international festivals. “The crisis has affected us too. We will have national tours. The authorities promised they will organize a tour for us in Moscow in November so that we could improve our situation. We cannot promise many premieres as we do not have funds. The payment of salaries to actors is a major problem. It is also hard to maintain the repertoire,” he said.
