A Business Development Center was inaugurated today in Crihana Veche, Cahul district, providing local entrepreneurs with a modern space to expand their businesses. It covers more than 1 400 square meters and already houses two businesses, which have created 10 new jobs and contribute more than 650 000 lei annually to the local budget. The local authorities aim to attract at least three additional companies, generating another 40 jobs, IPN reports.

The center was renovated with the support of the "EU4Moldova: Key Regions", financed by the European Union and implemented by UNDP and UNICEF, worth €600,000.

According to Igor Miclaus, Mayor of Crihana Veche, the Business Development Center is a modern and functional space, providing opportunities for investors from various sectors and supporting the growth of local businesses. "We aim to stimulate the business environment and contribute to job creation in Crihana Veche," the mayor added.

According to specialists, the modernization works included renovation of the building, rehabilitation of the water and sewage infrastructure, construction of an access road to the R-34 national route, development of a parking lot and installation of an efficient lighting system.

Otilia Vizdoaga, the owner of a local bakery and a resident of the center, believes that this space offers ideal conditions for expanding her business: "It is the perfect place for those who want to develop their business quickly and safely, with support right here at home in Moldova", she added.

The authorities note that the Business Development Center in Crihana Veche is open for new investments and aims to actively contribute to the economic development of the Cahul region.
