BREAKING: Voronin meets Smirnov in Bender

Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin is meeting Tiraspol leader Igor Smirnov now in Bender, ITAR-TASS and Reuters report, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. They discuss on the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict. The statement was made by Valery Litskay, the Tiraspol dignitary responsible for foreign policy who prepared the talks with Moldovan Reintegration Minister Vasile Sova. Info-Prim Neo’s correspondent’s phone call to get a confirmation from the Moldovan presidential press service has not been answered. Earlier this week, the President’s press service announced Vladimir Voronin agreed over the phone with Igor Smirnov to have a meeting. The two have not met for the last seven years.
