Bread sells dearer in Falesti

The Falesti bakery has increased the price of six types of bakery products by 0.25 lei. The bread that costs 3.75 lei will now sell for 4 lei. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, the factory’s director Ion Ghenea said they had to raise the price of bread as the prices of flour and fuel went up and the company cannot work at a loss. The district council’s head Nina Botezatu has told Info-Prim Neo that the price of bread was expected to rise after the prices of other products increased. The circumstances forced the factory’s administration to put the prices up. If the producer had not increased them, many of the employees would have been fired or the factory would have been closed, Nina Botezatu stated. The Falesti bakery supplies bread and other bakery products to about 40 settlements. There are six more private bakeries in Falesti district.
