Boxers from Grimancauti dominate national championship

The pugilists from Grimancauti won the largest number of medals in the 67th National Boxing Championship. Five of the nine gold medals were won by pupils of coach Petru Caduc, IPN reports.

The champions from Grimancauti are: Veaceslav Gojan (56 kg class), Vadim Ivaniuc (60 kg), Dumitru Galagot (64 kg), Vasile Belous (69 kg), and Alexei Zavatin (+91 kg). In the final, Zavatin beat well-known K-1 wrester Maxim Bolotov.

Instead, Mihail Muntean from Grimancauti didn’t manage to win gold in the 91 kg class, losing to Victor Ialymov from Chisinau 1-2 in the final. Another two boxers from Chisinau who won medals are Victor Coropcevschi (75 kg) and Petru Ciobanu (81 kg).

Alexandru Ryshcan from Tiraspol won gold in the 52 kg class.

The 67th National Boxing Championship involved 75 pugilists from 12 towns of Moldova. Chisinau hosted the competition for the 14th time in a row.
