In the context of Romania's accession to the Schengen area, border police officers inform that crossing the state border does not imply certain changes, but only the inclusion of additional checks. In this regard, the Border Police of the Republic of Moldova has issued a set of recommendations for citizens, IPN reports.

The Border Police recommends checking the validity of the biometric passport in order to benefit from the visa-free travel regime in the European Union, as well as its validity for at least 6 months from the planned date of travel.

Travelers are also urged to consult official sources to be aware of the requirements for traveling and staying in the Schengen area and to plan their trips at less busy times to reduce waiting times.

Checking the traffic flow by consulting the official website of the Border Police and having documents confirming the purpose of the trip are also necessary measures.

"By following the recommendations and being properly informed, border crossing can be a quick and safe process for all citizens", emphasizes the Border Police.
