Bomb scare at polling station in Germany. Voting interrupted

Representatives of the Police in Germany’s Frankfurt said they received a phone call by which a person informed that a bomb was planted at polling station No. 1/349 in Frankfurt that was established for the presidential elections of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.

The specialized German services rushed to the scene for checks and additional discussions, the Central Election Commission has said.

The functionaries of the electoral bureau are assessing the situation and will swiftly take decisions as to the further functioning of the polling place.

Update /5:10pm/ The polling station was closed for an hour. In accordance with Article 56, par. (1) of the Electoral Code – endangerment of voters – the head of the electoral bureau of polling station No. 1/349 Frankfurt am Main decided to suspend voting until 5:35pm, Moldova’s time. The police are evacuating the people and access to the area is banned for security reasons.
