A bomb threat was reported at a branch of Fincombank situated on Pushkin St in Chisinau. At the moment, police officers and carabineers are maintaining public order at the scene. Access to the street section where the bank is located is banned.

Natalia Stati, press officer of the Chisinau Police Division, has told IPN that the 112 Service was informed by representatives of the bank that they received an email saying that a number of explosive devices had been planted inside the bank on Pushkin St.

“All the specialized services travelled to the scene. The persons who at that moment were inside the buildings were evacuated. The police are monitoring the situation,” stated Natalia Stati.

Last night, services at the Chisinau International Airport were disrupted again after a bomb scare was announced by an email sent to the Border Police at about 2am. This turned out to be a hoax as did a series of bomb threats announced there last week.

Intentional misleading about an act of terrorism is punished with a fine of at most 42,500 lei or 180 to 240 hours of community service or a maximum jail term of two years.
