Employees of the Chisinau City Appeals Court and citizens who were inside the building were evacuated on November 9 after a man called the police and informed that an explosive device was planted inside the building, IPN reports.

The Chisinau Police Division said all the specialized services travelled to the scene. The building and the area were examined, but no explosive was found there. Measures are being taken to identify the caller.

Criminal proceedings were instituted. The authors of bomb hoaxes face fines of 27,500 to 42,500 lei, 180 to 240 hours of community service or up to two years in jail.

Fifteen bomb scares, all of which turned out to be hoaxes, were reported in Chisinau so far this year.
