The bodies found in a house in Dobrușa village of Telenești district were discovered three days after the commission of the crime. Grigore Munteanu, mayor of Negureni commune that includes Dobrușa, has told IPN that one of the suspects who was arrested by the police was recently released from prison after serving time for murder.

According to the mayor, the killed couple didn’t have minor children. The police determined that the murder was committed in the victims’ house in the evening of March 10. As a result of a drinking bout, a quarrel  started between the victims and the guests, the two suspects hitting the hosts with a hammer.

Grigore Munteanu said the local authorities will cover the burial costs as the family was a socially deprived one.

The bodies of the 43-year-old man and the 40-year-old woman were discovered by a neighbor in the morning of March 13. The suspects are aged 29 and, respectively, 38. They face 15 to 20 years in jail or life.
