Blocks with debts for water will be disconnected from water supply

A number of apartment buildings in Chisinau risk being disconnected from the water supply owing to the debts accumulated by the dwellers, Info-Prim Neo reports. SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” director general Constantin Becciev Monday said there are several blocks that have not paid the water bills since January. “These building are located at 15 Spataru St, 16/2 Grigore Vieru St, 26/2 Dragan St, and other addresses,” he stated. He also said that the managers of the buildings with debts for water were warned, but the situation hasn’t changed. If they do not fulfill their obligations, the supplier will go to court so as to recover the money. For his part, Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said the supplier should not disconnect the consumers when the temperatures are very high. According to SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau”, consumers’ debts for water now total almost 432 million lei. These are historical debts accumulated over time for not paying the difference in the metered and declared volumes of water and the water bills. The supplier warns the consumers to pay the debts as soon as possible.
