A man, 32, could remain confined to bed for life because of the injuries suffered in a road accident Monday afternoon. According to the Chisinau Road Police, the accident involved a Mercedes-124 car, driven by a 35 year old man, and a Honda motorbike, driven by the 32 year old victim. As a result of the crash, the motorcyclist was thrown off the bike and ended up on the carriageway with his spine broken in several places. A motorist, 38, driving a VAZ 2106 under the influence of alcohol, struck a trolleybus on Decebal Blvd. The collision hurt a 26 year old passenger of the car and damaged moderately both vehicles. Over the past 24 hours, the capital city saw 4 accidents with 4 injured persons and 18 accidents with no victims. The road officers fined 27 drivers for drunk-driving, 77 for speeding and 132 for wrong manoeuvring.
