Better conditions for children from primary school/nursery No. 88 in Codru

The primary school/nursery No. 88 in Codru town of Chisinau municipality has been renovated with a part of the grant provided by the Government of Romania. The building’s façade was reconstructed, the roof was replaced and the walls were thermally insulated, while the courtyard was paved, IPN reports.

In a press release of the Moldovan Social Investment Fund it is said that that 800,000 lei was allocated through the Fund for repairing the kindergarten within the “Program of technical and financial assistance provided by the Government of Romania for Moldovan preschool education institutions” to the total value of €20 million. Another 200,000 lei was offered from the local budget.

“It is a great joy to see happy children and parents satisfied with the conditions in which their kids are educated and grow. We appreciate the financial support provided by the Government of Romania and the responsibility shown by the nursery’s administration and the town’s administration,” said the Moldovan Social Investment Fund’s vice director Liuba Cuznetova.

Adrian Barla, of the Embassy of Romania in Chisinau, said the primary school/nursery No. 88 is a concrete example that the money provided by the Government of Romania has been used efficiently. “We are glad that together with our partners, the Moldova Social Investment Fund and the local authorities, we managed to offer better living conditions to the children. This is an example of investment in the children’s future. The Republic of Moldova will continue to benefit from Romania’s openness and support,” he stated.

Currently, the institution is attended by 170 children. Earlier, through another projected managed by the Moldova Social Investment Fund, the nursery school’s windows and doors were replaced and some of the rooms were repaired.

Among the beneficiaries of the grant offered by the Government of Romania are 774 nursery schools from 32 districts of the country. The works financed with the given grant include the extensive repair of buildings, replacement of roofs, doors, windows, wirings and heating systems, thermal insulation of external wall, building of water supply and sewerage systems, laying out of playgrounds, setting up of sanitary facilities, equipment with furniture, etc.
